Description

The plot in the seaside Varkiza was chosen for its key location in the Athenian Riviera and the southern suburbs of Attica. It allows the development of a residential complex just 2 minute walk from the coastal front. The project will achieve energy class A+ and include nine properties – 3 garden maisonettes with a swimming pool for exclusive use, four apartments on the second and third floor, and two sky garden maisonettes on the top floor.
The building volume is centrally located and evolves along the main axis of the plot to create a structure that frames the view, allowing us to create eight south-facing properties, 6 of which face both orientations and one north-facing. The shell of the building folds like a sheet of paper, the living spaces are revealed, the eye is directed towards the view, light enters unobstructed inside, and the living spaces extend outwards.
To meet the functional and aesthetic needs of its future residents, our project aims to be an exemplary case of contemporary architecture – in terms of its integration into the natural environment and the city, the functionality and organization of the living spaces, the careful management of environmental parameters (such as views, orientation, and light) and the application of modern materials, technologies and construction techniques.
